Easy does it.

Easy does it.

Las Cruces KOA Journey

•used to tell someone to go ahead with something slowly, and carefully

•used to ask someone not to lose their temper

•be careful/relax

•lightly or carefully

do something gently

•keep calm

•slow down

•put the breaks

Allowing God to remove our character defects takes time.

In the mean time we must be easy on ourselves and others.

If not we can experience burn out, discontentment, and want to give up.

I don’t know about you but I tend to be hard on myself. I expect to much on myself. I also expect to much from others. Especially as a mom I often feel exhausted and I get frustrated that I didn’t accomplish much of my goals. Or that I’m not where I want to be. I wear myself out with the worldly pressures. Worrying about my time.

What I must remember is “Easy does it”

✨An “easy does it” pace will accomplish more than a rushed spirit. @reynamorrisco

When we rush we forget who we are and whose we are!

If we submit to every change God wants to do in our life and humbly ask Him to remove our character defects. God can then begin to work in our life. Recovery is a process.

He is a good God and He will help you recover!

While we wait patiently and gracefully. We can aim to be gentle with ourselves and others.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:7

Maybe, I was chosen to forgive?

“Maybe, I was chosen to forgive? ”

@reynamorrisco

Clinging to bitterness causes further wounding.

Some examples of that are uncontrollable anger, hate, digestive issues, body tension, headaches, isolation, on going grief, anxiety and fear. And hurting more people because of your past pain.

Have you ever heard the saying, “ Hurt people, hurt people and healed people, heal people”.

Which one do you prefer to be?

I know I prefer to be healed!

Choosing to forgive is to stop focusing on what others have done to us and focus on what Jesus has already done for us.

Forgiveness is being in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

@reynamorrisco

That is His nature. So to forgive is to be more like Him. We find salvation which gives us the confidence in knowing forgiveness is the key to living freedom from our past hurts.

Friend, we must move forward! It’s time to let go of what hinders our growth. To trust God with the pain. To pray for the willingness to forgive. No sin is to great (abuse, addiction, adultry, murder, stealing, lying) for Our Father, He is mighty and He will cleanse our heart from the pain that so easily cripples our spirit and entangles us in the cobb webs of hate and unforgiveness.

Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Luke 23:34

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, my heart is numb, my spirit is heavy. The hate in my heart is growing. Cleanse my heat and mind Lord. Make it obedient to your word. Give me the willingness to forgive my abusers, those that have hurt me. As well as the willingness to forgive myself for the pain I also caused to others. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and the sins of others. You are a perfect example of choosing to forgive. Thank you for choosing me to offer the gift of forgiveness to others and myself. May they see your power in your forgiveness. I let go of the burden, I release _____ (person or the pain). I am a new creation free from my past. Ready for the abundant life you have called me to! A redeemed heart I have to give to others. My I walk in my calling to forgive so others can experience you. Jesus Name, Amen!

In the mess I’m still working.

Today I took the girls to the park. Covid has tested my faith, my commitments, and my mental health just to name a few .

It’s caused me to doubt God’s plan, goodness, timing, His word, strength and power.

This morning during my devotional time I asked Him to help me understand.

When you ask, He will show you. He shows me in creatives way because He knows my ❤️

You see this picture? Well there is a wooden bridge, underneath was a pond, in the pond is a huge excavator, lots of mud/rocks. Next to the edge in the muddy puddle floated a mom duck and her ducklings.

In my amazement the duck and ducklings continued to swim in the mud.

My daughter stood amazed at the power of the excavator and ducks. On the other side of this bridge is a park, and a walking trail that goes around a beautiful pond.

I stare at this picture because God was helping me understand that in the dirt, in the messy seasons, the uncomfortable ones. The ones were we want to give up. He is working! He is moving! He is making a way!

The excavator is Him removing the pieces that no longer serve me. The pieces that are keeping Him from creating something beautiful through me. The bridge is my journey, a testing of my faith, will I remain faithful, keep putting one foot in front of the other? Keep moving forward in holy confidence? Will I keep being obedient to what He has called me to? Faithful in the little?

Or will I settle for Plan B because this is just too hard?

Friend, let me remind you we serve a BIG GOD! Don’t settle for anything less His plan for you is GREAT! In the mess He is creating something beautiful through you. In the chaos He still provides. In the darkness, He is your light and will lead the way to your destiny! His word does not return void. He is faithful.

So be like that duck, he doesn’t need to swim bc his body posture is stable. That duck wasn’t afraid of the noise or the big scary excavator because He is confident. Confident in who He belongs to. He knows that territory belongs to Him. He knows something beautiful is coming!

Be still and know. (Psalm 146:10).

Commit your heart desires.

You may be frustrated with life because your not where you want to be.

Covid might have also pushed your plans further back. (Ugh, annoying)

You may be scrolling and seeing your family or friends making moves, following their dreams considering the times we are in. Friend, I know times can get discouraging.

But I want to bring you hope this morning!

God is the author of our dreams, He put every single ambition and passion in our hearts. It’s not a mistake.

He cares about our destiny. He cares about it more than we actually do.

Everything he created us to do is for his benefit. Have you ever thought about it in that way?

So if that’s true then why would he withhold our dreams from us?

The truth is if it’s His will, it will come to pass in His timing. Nothing can stop His plans for us.

Yup, friend that’s the key word. In His timing!

Trust in His timing! Embrace the process. I know that’s easier said than done but in the waiting your being refined, molded, strengthen and empowered to fulfill His Calling for your life.

Have you ever surrendered all your heard desires to Him?

Let me show you.

Lord,

I surrender my marriage to you.

I surrender my parenting to you.

I surrender my business to you.

I surrender my children to you.

I surrender my heart desires to you.

I surrender my writing to you.

I surrender my creative time to you.

Have your way. I will trust in your timing. I will be patient and be faithful with what I have in front of me. I will trust in your promises for my life. I will not get weary in doing good in due time my dreams will come to pass.

I recommend making a list like this one. It helps release all the pressure, frustration and worry. Then you will have the energy to do what you’ve been entrusted with for today.

What you think about yourself matters!

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 NIV

What others think about you doesn’t matter. But what you think about yourself matters most.

Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become your future.

If your constantly criticizing yourself. Constantly putting yourself down—Telling yourself your not able, or your not good enough, or fat, or your a bad mom, or a bad wife, or a bad friend.

Then your heart will signal to your mind and start to believe it, then your actions will align with the negativity that’s in your heart. Why? Because everything you do flows from it.

So instead fill your heart and mind with God’s truth about who your are in Him. Renew your mind with positive affirmations.

Important rule in life: You must believe in yourself.

Believe:

I am able to do anything with God’s strength.

I am a great mom!

I am an amazing friend!

I am creative!

I am a light in this world.

I am more than enough!

I have everything I need in life!

I am fit.

I am healthy.

I am strong.

I am loved.

I am brave.

I am Daughter of the King!

Am I gracious and compassionate?

The Lord is gracious & compassionate slow to anger and rich in love. Psalm 145:8 NIV

Sometimes people do to us what we do to the Lord. We judge the Lord and call Him things He is not. We believe the lies. Some of us may think God is an angry God. They believe He has punished them. They believe He never blesses them or has anything good for them.

If they had an earthly father that was absent or abusive they believe the same about our Heavenly Father. Our God is loving, He is slow to anger. he is rich in love. He loves you. Adores you. Wants the very best for you.

This is why it’s important to know the truth about our Heavenly Father.

Some people label us and define us by our past and we must know the truth about ourselves and speak against those lies too. For many years I believed I wasn’t worthy of grace and that I wasn’t compassionate because of the mistakes I had made.

But the truth is my past doesn’t define me. It’s my current actions that will define my future. So I must change the narrative and speak truth into my life. If my God say’s He is gracious and compassionate then so am I!

So I will speak with the authority and love that I’ve been given towards myself and others. I want to reflect His character and walk out His promises.

So will you repeat this #affirmations

Repeat it until you believe the truth about yourself and about your Heavenly Father above?!?

Your thoughts become your future.

Your thoughts become your words, you words become your action, your actions become your habits and your habits become your future.

I experienced trauma in my life. I learned a behavior it became a bad habit.

What is that bad habit? Negative self-talk.

It appears as low self esteem.

This is not sexy to admit but it’s important to talk about it because not finding your confidence can hinder you from reaching your destiny.

Negative self talk can sound like:

“I can’t finish what I started.”

“I’m not smart enough.”

“I don’t have what it takes.”

“I’m not equipped.

”I’m not attractive enough.”

“I’m not creative enough.”

“I am not worthy-enough .”

“I am not thin enough.”

“I’ll never be successful.”

“I’m not a good mom.”

“I am a mistake.”

“I’m such a mess.”

“My life sucks.”

“Life will always be this way.”

“There right, I’m a failure.”

Friend, when we speak words like these to ourselves we are criticizing God’s masterpiece -YOU!

You are His masterpiece everything He creates is good!

God wants us to speak out of love. He wants us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. So how can we love others well if we are constantly having negative self-talk?

Like the quote above says,

Your thoughts become your words, you words become your action, your actions become your habits and your habits become your future.

Drewmarkgriffin

What kind of future do you want? If your thought life doesn’t line up w/ the future you envision then it’s time. It’s time to speak God’s truth into your life .

Our words are POWERFUL! You are POWERFUL! You have authority—speak life!

You have authority to change your mindset- No more stinking thinking!

Instead say,

I can finish what I start with God’s strength.

I am smart because God created me.

I am equipped with everything I need to fulfill God’s calling.

I am able because God says I am able.

I am beautiful, everything God creates is good and beautiful.

I am God’s masterpiece.

I am fit and healthy!

I am a great mom, my kids love me. I love being their mom!

My past doesn’t define me. I am forgiven and set free because God says I am!

I have respect for the past.

San Angelo State Park Texas

I have great respect for the past. If you don’t know where you’ve come from, you don’t know where you’re going. I have respect for the past, but I’m a person of the moment. I’m here, and I do my best to be completely centered at the place I’m at, then I go forward to the next place.

Our trip to California consisted of staying at 4 campgrounds this was our first stop. We got there really literally at 12am and got up the next morning took a walk to explore the campground before we had to head out to our next stop, Phoenix Arizona.

Forgiveness frees you from bondage!

Forgiveness frees you!
Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. Matthew 18: 21-22 NIV

FORGIVENESS isn’t for the other person it’s for you! It’s to set you free from the bondage of hate, anger, bitterness, and resentment.

When you forgive you display to others that you are His disciple. When you forgive it shows maturity, it displays that you bear the fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, goodness….

Forgiveness comes naturally when you remain in the presence of Our Lord and Savior. Because that is His will for our life. To walk in forgiveness. To walk in freedom. To be set free from our past.

I know for me the hardest people to forgive where my abusers. And then it was hard to forgive myself for the pain I also caused to others while in pain from my past hurts. There is nothing big enough that God can’t help you heal from. I know because my life is a living proof of that. He can help you forgive even the deepest hurts. Nothing to big for our God.

Will you let go of that past hurt, the pain that was done to you? Will you set the person free? Most importantly Will you set yourself free?

He wants you to live an abundant life. Live set free. Pray for the willingness to forgive. Ask and you shall receive.

Let go, He wants to do a new thing in your life. Forgive and get ready to live an abundant life!

I am a living-breathing miracle!

I am a living-breathing miracle!

Repeat it 3x

Be gentle on yourself.

Have some grace for yourself.

What you got done today is enough. You are enough. What you have is enough.

Listen to your body, get some rest- mentally and physically.

Now, Thank your body for what it did today. Your body is a miracle. If your breathing that means your ALIVE. Yes, you are a living- breathing miracle. 🙏🏽

I’m thankful God created you. We need you! So be kind to yourself.
